Bank of Stanly - 2003 Relay For Life
Saturday, May 10th 2003 - Albemarle, NC
- Associates, directors and their families represented our
company by participating in this year's American Cancer Society's
Relay for Life community events in Anson, Cabarrus and Stanly
counties. The Relay for Life event continues to grow each
year and raise money for funding research in hopes of finding
a cure for cancer.
Overall, our team raised approximately $5,700
for the community events ... a team effort indeed. Appreciation
is expressed to all who walked, contributed and helped.
The Stanly County team won the coveted "Most
Team Spirit" award. Their theme, "Let's Keep our
Mama's Garden Growing" centered around Bank
of Stanly's very own Willie Grey Daniel, who lost her
battle with cancer earlier this year. Her team spirit remains
with us today. She will long be remembered for her positive
attitude and willingness to always serve others everyday
on the teller line of Bank of Stanly's Main Office. Willie
Grey's husband, Reade, and their son's family, joined the
team for a tribute to her. During the team cookout, sixteen
balloons were released to honor Willie Grey's sixteen years
of service with Bank of Stanly.
By working together, we can continue
to enhance the well being of the counties we serve
and make a difference in our community.
